The house feels strangely empty today. I came her

The house feels strangely empty today.

I came here with my life in 2 suit cases and my dog.

Yesterday tankie passed. It feels very surreal after having her as a constant for the last decade of my life.

It was not easy or peaceful, she fought sedation until the end. Everything feels numb and yet raw. It'll pass. I am familiar enough with grief that it comes in surges.

The weather is blustery and wild on this first day

The weather is blustery and wild on this first day of the year--we slept with the windows cracked to shift the energy in the house, it felt poetic to listen to the crash of the waves and the wind and rain.

Flowing with the energy, trusting the process--hoping to fill the rest of the spots for January today.

The artist smock is also an option and will be added to the website, just need some cooperative weather to photograph it.

This swap will be taking participants all the way up to Sunday January 5th--then I will match partners and have them out before distaff day (january 7th)

Swap items should include…

-a sweet message of love and kindness

-something stash dove to your partner’s taste (fiber, needles, hooks, yarn, tools) or if you run a tight ship with your stash something under $25 usd

-a homemade goody--how you define goody is up to you! Art card, earrings, socks, altar item etc--just be thoughtful!

I'm exhausted. life since march has been a consta

I'm exhausted. life since march has been a constant struggle. And I'm saying that because it needs to be acknowledged in his story. Honestly though I feel like I've been running on this treadmill since may 2019, with a short break dec-feb last year and then threw us back on it cranked to 11 in march.

Looking back on it and where we are now I see a tremendous amount of forced growth; in unlearning toxic self sufficiency, protecting rest time (struggling the most with!) And learning and believing that we are worthy of care.

I've always been hmmm about this season, when I was young I was confused about all that work just for one 24 hour period. Exactly where does the magic begin and end. As I age, and I am now responsible for the rituals of the season--particularly this year where we are isolating, not visiting family or going to parties--the holiday is about deep rest for us. The first day yes, a bit frenzied, but now on the 2nd day we are all in our robes quiet, having a lie in -breathing deep.

Taking the full 12 days of jul to rest and recharge the creative batteries, spin, knit, read, sleep, dream about the spring gardens.
